Acne
Acne vulgaris (cystic acne or simply acne) is a common skin disease which can be treated in a number of ways. We use the following approaches and more to address and control acne.
- topical products to prevent pores from becoming clogged
- topical and oral antibiotics to kill Proprionobacterium acnes, a bacteria that contributes to acne
- anti-inflammatory medications

Cutaneous Infections

Eczema
Eczema is a general term for any type of dermatitis or “itchy rash”. There are several skin diseases that are eczemas; a partial list of eczemas includes: atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, dyshidrotic eczema, nummular eczema and seborrheic dermatitis. All types of eczemas cause itching and redness and some will blister, weep or peel.

Psoriasis
Psoriasis is a chronic, autoimmune disease that appears on the skin. It occurs when the immune system sends out faulty signals that speed up the growth cycle of skin cells. Psoriasis is not contagious.
There are five types of psoriasis. The most common form, plaque psoriasis, appears as raised, red patches covered with a silvery white buildup of dead skin cells. Psoriasis can occur on any part of the body and is associated with other serious health conditions, such as diabetes, heart disease and depression.
Psoriasis is the most common autoimmune disease in the U.S. As many as 7.5 million Americans have psoriasis.
Rosacea
Rosacea is a chronic disorder primarily of the facial skin, which typically begins any time after age 30 as a redness on the cheeks, nose, chin or forehead that may come and go. Rosacea may also occur on the neck, chest, scalp or ears. Over time, the redness tends to become ruddier and more persistent, and visible blood vessels may appear. Left untreated, bumps and pimples often develop, and in severe cases the nose may grow swollen and bumpy from excess tissue. This is the condition, called rhinophyma.

Warts
Warts are benign (non-cancerous) skin growths that appear when a virus infects the top layer of the skin. Viruses that cause warts are called human papillomavirus (HPV). You are more likely to get one of these viruses if you cut or damage your skin in some way. Wart viruses are contagious. Warts can spread by contact with the wart or something that touched the wart.
