PRESS RELEASE: Pennsylvania Dermatology Partners Ensures its Readiness Against COVID-19. Local medical practice takes steps to ensure patient safety and ease burden for its staff
Douglassville, PA – March 17, 2020
As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, Douglassville, PA-based Pennsylvania Dermatology Partners (PDP) is taking steps to mitigate risk to its patients and the community alike while protecting the health and financial well-being of its over 100 employees.
“In light of COVID-19 concerns, and because our top priority is always the health and safety of our patients and team members, we have implemented and are proposing safety guidelines based on recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and other specialized health agencies,” said Andrew Frankel, COO of PDP.
A few of those steps include thinning out staff schedules to reduce patient volume and minimizing less critical patient visits. PDP has also emptied waiting rooms of all magazines and nonessential items and sanitized them thoroughly, and has provided offices with sanitizing surface spray cleansers. This would augment the current hand sanitizers and microbial wipes that are in already in current use.
While no employees at PDP have tested positive for the virus at this time, the company is being proactive and has implemented or plans various scenarios that may lessen the impact on its employee base.
This includes implementing a work-from-home policy for employees for whom their job duties permit, in order to contribute to containment efforts.
PDP is also guaranteeing support staff pay for the next two-to-four-week period even if staff are unable to work as a result of the virus or precautions against it. “With the uncertainty of these unprecedented times, we hope to lessen the stress on our employees by doing everything we can to support them,” said Frankel.
PDP, he says, continues to monitor the situation very closely. “We are closely following the latest guidance from the CDC, the local government, and public health agencies. Our providers and management team are upholding and practicing strict precautionary measures as it relates to COVID-19.”
