Dermatology Partners Hosts Grand Opening for New Westminster Clinic, Offering Free Skin Cancer Screenings for Veterans and Active-Duty Military on Veterans Day

Dermatology Partners, a premiere privately owned and physician-led dermatology group, will open a new office in Westminster, its third in Maryland since the Pennsylvania-headquartered practice entered the state in September 2023.
As part of its grand opening, Dermatology Partners will offer free skin cancer screenings to all members of the miliary and veterans. This will take place in honor of and on Veterans Day, November 11, from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Anyone interested in signing up can call 888-895-3376 for a skin cancer screening, which should take approximately fifteen minutes.
The new Westminster clinic, located at 535 Old Westminster Pike, Suite 100, Westminster, will be led by dermatologist and Mohs Micrographic surgeon Dr. Olufolakemi “Kemi” Awe, MD, PhD, FAAD. Dr. Awe will provide a full range of dermatologic care, including medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology services.

Prior to joining Dermatology Partners, Dr. Awe was lead co-investigator for a NIH-funded project focused on novel topical therapies for improving sun-damaged skin and preventing skin cancer.
Dr. Awe received her undergraduate degree in biochemistry from the University of Maryland Baltimore County and her MD/PhD in immunology from Indiana University, where she worked with one of the leading T-helper cell biologists in the country. She completed her dermatology residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, followed by a year as a UAB Dermatology faculty member.
Following residency, Dr. Awe completed her fellowship in Mohs Micrographic surgery at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is a member of the American College of Mohs Surgery, the American Academy of Dermatology, and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and is Board-certified by the American Board of Dermatology.
Under Dr. Awe’s leadership, Dermatology Partners’ new Westminster clinic will offer patients access to advanced technologies and immediate care, a best-in-class management team, expanded healthcare offerings, and a strong commitment to patient satisfaction.
The Westminster office will start with five new employees but plans to triple its staff within the next two years. Dermatology Partners’ two other Baltimore-area offices are located in Sparks and Owings Mills.
